Main duties of the job
As a Health Care Assistant with Prometheus you will work alongside skilled mental health and clinical professionals to deliver outstanding care in challenging and varied situations.
You will support the safe transfer of patients in our services including PSS, PCC and Section 136 pathways as well as in hospital bedwatch, mental health units and other specialist environments. This is hands on, people first work that requires empathy, resilience and professionalism.
You will communicate with patients and partner organisations, handle sensitive information and respond quickly when situations change. You will ensure every patient is treated with dignity and respect regardless of circumstance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing high quality, compassionate care during patient transfers and in care settings
- Supporting qualified nurses in the safe transfer of patients
- Driving Prometheus ambulances when required * Responding effectively to crises and emergencies
- Completing clear and accurate documentation in line with procedures
- Safeguarding vulnerable adults and children in accordance with policy
- Maintaining vehicles and equipment to required standards
- Leading a team during informal patient transfers when needed
You will represent Prometheus to our patients and partners, playing a vital role in keeping people safe while upholding our values of care, professionalism and integrity.
