We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Winchester a category B Prison located in Winchester
HMP Winchester is a male prison that has a capacity for 706 inmates and are recruiting for a Pharmacy Assistant to support the pharmacy team for weekends only. Hours
Weekends only - 19 hours per week 0730 - 1730 30 min unpaid break Please note if bank holidays fall on a weekend shift then you will need to be prepared to cover this. Salary Up to £29,723 per annum (Full time equivalent)
Up to £15,059 per annum (part time) How will we support you?

Main duties of the job
As a Pharmacy Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
- Be working as an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service
- Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings
- Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing based clinical areas
- Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of return
- Participate in dispensing of prescriptions.

Qualifications required
- NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills / equivalent or working towards
- Medicines handing experience desirable not essential
- Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent
- A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
- Excellent communication skills
- Good IT skills and IT literacy
- Ability to work within a busy environment
- Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
