Job summary

As a Project and Operational Support Manager, you will play a key role in delivering high-impact projects and service improvements across the Plasma supply chain, helping ensure life-saving products reach patients safely and efficiently. Acting as a subject matter expert, you will lead the implementation of new systems, processes and technologies while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. An exciting 12-month secondment opportunity has become available in Bristol, Filton. In this role, you will act as the site lead for the replacement of Plasma Bulk External Freezers (BEFs) with new purpose-built infrastructure. This transformation will optimise how NHSBT manages the Plasma Supply Chain for both Plasma for Medicines (PFM) and clinical components. Reporting to the Plasma Business Lead, you will work closely with operational stakeholders to design and deliver the new facility, leading planning, coordination and execution while supporting and inspiring teams through change.

Main duties of the job

• Lead the implementation of complex, high-impact projects and change programmes across the Plasma directorate.
• Act as the operational lead and subject matter expert for service and product implementation within the Plasma supply chain.
• Plan, manage and coordinate cross-functional project teams, ensuring clear objectives, governance and risk management.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design and deliver best practice processes and services.
• Analyse complex data from multiple sources to inform decisions, recommendations and performance improvements.
• Develop and deliver training, workshops and presentations to support implementation and capability building.
• Provide operational expertise in procurement, evaluation and introduction of new systems, equipment and technologies.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality and safety standards, including Good Manufacturing Practice.
• Build strong relationships across directorates to support strategic objectives and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to the development of policies, procedures and national best practice standards.

This is a site-based role in Filton. However, the Project is being implemented simultaneously across both Manchester and Filton sites, and you will be required to support activity on both sites as and when required.
