Job summary

The post holder will be responsible as the lead specialist for the design & management of mechanical services at all properties owned or maintained by the Trust. Ensuring that the service is provided efficiently and effectively to the highest possible standard within the resources allocated. To provide a high quality service that is responsive to service, clinical and patient needs.Providing detailed professional and technical advice to staff and contractors on issues that are often highly complex and non-routine. The role will be to assist Senior Management in ensuring that the many and varied mechanical systems provide an uninterrupted and safe service for the hospital site.

Main duties of the job

Under the direction of Senior Management you will act as the Lead Specialist/Authorised Person for one or more of the following areas of responsibility to ensure all statutory obligations are complied with including:-

Health Technical Memorandum

• 02-01: Medical gas pipeline systems
• 03-01: Specialised ventilation for healthcare premises
• 04-01: The control of Legionella, hygiene, "safe" hot water, cold water and drinking water systems.

Health & Safety Guidance

• Safety of pressure systems. Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000. Approved Code of Practice L122
• The Lifting Operations And Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998: (LOLLER)
• Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007: (CDM Regulations)
