Join Our Maternity Team

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Infant Feeding Maternity Support Worker to join our dedicated maternity services team. This is an exciting opportunity to support new and expectant families in establishing and maintaining safe, responsive infant feeding practices while promoting positive health outcomes for mothers and babies.

Working alongside midwives, infant feeding specialists, health visitors, and other healthcare professionals, you will provide practical, evidence-based support and information to women and families throughout their infant feeding journey.

Main duties of the job

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support to women and families with infant feeding, including breastfeeding and formula feeding.
• Assist mothers to initiate and maintain breastfeeding, offering practical guidance and encouragement.
• Promote responsive feeding and support parents in making informed feeding choices.
• Support women with expressing breast milk and safe storage practices.
• Deliver infant feeding information in antenatal, postnatal, community, and hospital settings.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with organisational policies.
• Identify and escalate concerns regarding infant feeding, maternal wellbeing, or infant health to appropriate healthcare professionals.
• Work collaboratively with midwives, neonatal staff, health visitors, and infant feeding specialists.
• Contribute to the achievement and maintenance of Baby Friendly Initiative standards where applicable.
• Support the delivery of health promotion initiatives related to maternal and infant health.
