We have an exciting opportunity for a Practice Nurse to join our Planned  team at HMP Pentonville  a category B Prison located in London

We offer convenient onsite parking, a welcoming canteen, and access to a gym to help you stay active and healthy. Youll also have the opportunity to build a broad range of clinical skills through varied and rewarding training, including long-term health conditions, wound care, vaccination training, and much more.

Hours

37.5 hr  8am  -4pm  Salary

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £55086 per annum

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Main duties of the job

As a Practice Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Teams will work together at each stage of the patient journey, supporting them as they arrive into prison (Early Days in Custody Team), delivering the care they need, promoting good health and supporting resettlement (Planned Care Team) and responding to urgent and emergency needs (Unscheduled Care Team).
• As a Practice Nurse you need expert clinical skills and demonstrate judgement in assessing and managing wide ranging and complex patient problems. You will provide clinical leadership for the Primary care team and be a critical leader within the scheduled care Team.
• You will be accountable for your own practice, including the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge or referral of patients, independent of medical intervention.
• This will include managing a case load i,e long term conditions and QoF management.

Qualifications required

• Registered Nurse: Adult Nursing with current NMC registration
• Experience working autonomously as a clinical practitioner following best practice guidance and identifying risk to patients through sound use of clinical expertise
• Knowledge of the statutory requirements for the safeguarding of adults and children
• Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate openly, consistently and clearly
