About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Financial Trainee Accountant to join our Financial Accounting Team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a successful career in finance while gaining practical experience within a professional accounting environment.
The role will provide exposure to a wide range of financial accounting activities, including financial reporting, balance sheet management, statutory accounts preparation, audit support and financial controls.
You will work closely with experienced finance professionals who will support you with your development.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Principal Accountant in maintaining and developing the fixed asset register, ensuring assets are recorded accurately and in accordance with accounting standards.
Assist in the delivery of capital accounting processess, including monitoring, recording and reporting of capital expenditure.
Prepare asset additions, disposals, transfers and depreciation calculations, ensuring transactions are accurately reflected within the financial ledger.
Assist with the preparation of the year-end accounts, working papers and statutory disclosures relating to fixed assets.
Support internal and external audit processes by providing timely and accurate information.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance financial processes and reporting.
What will be expected from me?
To develop a strong understanding of fixed asset and capital accounting principles.
Build effective working relationships with colleagues across the finance team and the wider organisation.
Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and deliver work to agreed deadlines.
Show initiative in identifying and resolving issues.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling financial information.
Essential requirements:
AAT qualified or equivalent.
A genuine interest in pursuing a career in accountancy and finance.
Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attension to detail.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Competent in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
