Part time, Public Health Nurse, Band 5, North team based at the Macclesfield Base. - Working in the 0-19+ Team

We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our Cheshire East North 0-19+ team as a part time Public Health Nurse, supporting the Health Visitor North team covering Macclesfield, Wilmslow, Knutsford, Poynton and Disley. Initially the position is based in Macclesfield.

The work involves working with families ,children and young people and delivering the Healthy Child Programme core offer. The role supports the Health Visiting service working with the team to carryout the Healthy Child Programme, via home visits, clinics and group work in the family Hubs. The role gives a great insight to our service and has supported employees to develop into other roles associated with public health and 0-19 services. We have great feedback from students and staff who enjoy working within a friendly and supportive team.

Main duties of the job

Supporting the 0-19+ service to deliver the 0-19+Public Health Nurse offer.

Managing your own caseload allocated by Health Visitor

Completing developmental clinics as per the Healthy Child Programme and drop in clinics. Facilitation of group work working closely with the family hubs in Macclesfield. Escalation of concerns to Health visitor. Providing supervision to CHPA and being assessor/supervisor for student nurses or trainee staff.

Completion of home contacts, working with SEND children and supporting families, working with CIN/CPP AND Cared for children with oversight from the Health Visitor.

Delegation and work planning/organisation

Facilitating clinics across the North Locality Cheshire East

Job description

The successful candidate will work as part of the 0-19+ service, delivering public health offer across North Team [Macclesfield] working initially with the 0-5 age group.

The role also includes providing leadership to junior colleagues and new starters, organising/ work planning and delegation and chairing and attending meetings.

We have weekly safety huddles to support staff at the beginning of each day and monthly team meetings. Each member of staff has Clinical and Management supervision every 12 weeks or more often if required.

Supervision is available to all staff both planned and reactive.

We work closely with our specialist Safeguarding nurses to ensure staff feel supported and have access to appropriate training and induction
