Job summary

Axess sexual health is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly and dynamic service. We are seeking someone with a genuine interest in sexual health who is committed to delivering high-quality, inclusive and patient-centred care. The role includes working across a range of community clinic locations, so flexibility and a willingness to travel are essential.

As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will support nurses, doctors and fellow HCAs in providing safe, confidential care. You will help ensure the smooth running of walk-in and appointment-based clinics, assist with clinical tasks, and maintain excellent infection-control standards. You will also support patients with reassurance, information and signposting, helping them feel respected and well cared for.

We are looking for someone with a positive, proactive attitude who is confident in fast-paced clinical environments. Strong communication skills, a non-judgemental approach and a commitment to learning are essential. Main duties of the job

According to service policy,

1,Undertake pregnancy testing & venepuncture and any other procedure, which falls within your knowledge and competencies under the guidance and supervision of clinical staff.2. Manage fast-track clinics using electronic patient records ensuring all episodes areentered and coded safely and efficiently.3. Ensure all samples/specimens are recorded & transported in a timely andappropriate manner, according to service policy. Report any discrepancies to anappropriate team member4. To maintain stock (clinical supplies) levels, identifying and reporting anydiscrepancies or cost savings to service manager.5. Ensure a clean & tidy environment within the clinical area and maintainhousekeeping throughout.6 Support clinical delivery alongside dedicated sexual health clinical practitioners.7. Provide sexual health advice which supports the care, emotional well-being andeducation of patients

• To provide and maintain an efficient and safe environment for clients and staff,reporting any potential safety issues to an appropriate team member and makingsuggestions for service improvement, according to Trust and service policies andprocedures2. To maintain high standards of infection control procedures according to Trust andservice policies3. To maintain client confidentiality at all times according to Trust and service policies4. To act as a chaperone taking into account cultural and religious beliefs, as directedby clinical staff, whilst promoting a positive image of the service5. Prioritise own workload and organise own work on a daily basis to ensure thesmooth running of the service6. Identify, report (and contribute to recording) to appropriate team member any ChildProtection and Vulnerable adult issues observed during duties, according tolegislation & Trust policy7. Prepare equipment and clinical environment, and assist at clinical procedures asappropriate8. To report sickness, absence and any accident/incident to the clinical manager orher/his deputy9. To work within the community clinical settings
