We have an exciting opportunity for a part time Senior Mental Health Nurse to join the team at HMP Lewes a category B prison in Lewes.

Hours

This role is 24 hours per week working on a Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 10pm.

Salary

This position is part time, youll receive an annual salary from £30,848 to £34,814  per annum (£48,200 - £54,397 full time equivalent) - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Senior Mental Health Nurse your responsibilities will vary. You will:

• Be responsible for assessment and ongoing management of our patients mental health needs.
• You will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients, assessing their physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan.
• Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
• Deliver non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
• You will play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patients care following our policies and procedures and always considering safeguarding.
• You will forge strong links with our partners and stakeholders, providing a service that people can trust, feel safe within, and feel proud of.

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

• Registered nurse Mental Health
• Current professional qualification (NMC)
• Evidence of Continued Professional Development
• Experience of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
• Understanding of mental health policy including clinical governance and the quality and outcomes framework, along with national standards such as NICE
• Ability to assess and manage patient risk effectively.
