An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse or Midwife to join the team at Care Fertility Bath as a Registered Practitioner in Fertility Care.

This is a rewarding opportunity to develop specialist knowledge and skills within fertility and assisted conception services, supporting patients throughout their treatment journey. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality clinical care, education and emotional support to individuals and couples undergoing fertility treatment.

The role offers exposure to a range of clinical environments, including outpatient clinics, procedure rooms and theatres, and involves supporting patients through investigations, treatment planning and fertility procedures. Full training and development will be provided for candidates who are new to fertility care.

We welcome applications from both experienced nurses and midwives, as well as newly qualified practitioners who can demonstrate a passion for women's health and patient-centred care.

The successful candidate will be primarily based at Care Fertility Bath, with occasional travel to Care Fertility Bristol required to support service delivery.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will:

• Provide information, education and emotional support to patients undergoing fertility treatment.
• Coordinate patient treatment pathways and ensure continuity of care.
• Undertake patient assessments and pre-treatment consultations.
• Teach patients how to safely administer fertility medications.
• Provide nursing and midwifery care before, during and after fertility procedures.
• Perform venepuncture and communicate blood test results (training can be provided).
• Assist with and support a range of fertility procedures including:
• Egg collection
• Embryo transfer
• Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)
• HyCoSy procedures
• Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation.
• Ensure clinical areas are prepared appropriately for procedures and patient care.
• Maintain emergency equipment and assist in ensuring compliance with clinical governance standards.
• Work collaboratively with consultants, embryologists, nurses, midwives and administrative colleagues to deliver high-quality patient care.

Job description

As a Registered Practitioner in Fertility Care, you will play a key role in supporting patients throughout their fertility treatment journey, providing high-quality clinical care, education and emotional support. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will coordinate treatment pathways, undertake patient assessments, support fertility procedures and ensure an exceptional patient experience from initial consultation through to treatment.

This varied role offers exposure to clinic, ward and theatre environments and includes supporting procedures such as egg collection, embryo transfer, intrauterine insemination (IUI) and HyCoSy. You will also provide patient education, including medication teaching, undertake clinical activities such as venepuncture, and contribute to the safe and effective delivery of fertility services.

The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse or Midwife who is passionate about delivering compassionate, patient-centred care and developing specialist skills within fertility and reproductive healthcare.
