Job description

Compass Medical Practice is a GP practice for those who are difficult to manage in mainstream practice. Patients are either consulted via telephone/ video link or face to face. When a face-to-face appointment is required, a risk assessment is undertaken to assess what support the clinician requires. Consultations are supported with the use of patient liaison officers and consultations are carried out in our mobile clinic van or in an agreed prebooked venue.

These are short term patients that are residing at Thornton house for either rehab, rest or recouperation. There is a weekly ward round and multidisciplinary team meeting. Compass Medical practice also offers medical support throughout the week, outside of the ward round, during opening hours.

Our homeless health service is nurse led and is operates on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from the Salvation Army in central Blackpool. The nursing team take a multidisciplinary approach, often working with wider services to meet the needs of a complex patient cohort who are facing multiple disadvantage.
