Job summary

We have two exciting opportunities for experienced and motivated nurses to join our Neurology Specialist Nursing team:

• 1 x Neurology Nurse Specialist (Multiple Sclerosis)
• 1 x Neurology Nurse Specialist (Parkinson's Disease)

As a Neurology Nurse Specialist, you will play a key role in providing expert clinical care and support to patients living with long-term neurological conditions. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver specialist assessment, advice, treatment planning, and ongoing management for patients throughout their care journey.

The successful candidates will provide high-quality, patient-centred care across the Cheshire and Merseyside region, with possible involvement in services provided in North Wales.

This post is advertised at Band 7. However, applicants who demonstrate the potential to undertake the role but do not yet meet all of the required competencies and experience may be considered for appointment at Band 6. A structured development programme will be provided, with the expectation that all Band 7 competencies are achieved within six months of appointment.

Main duties of the job

Provide in-depth assessment of people living with Long term neurological conditions considering other co-morbidities that may be present, and provide a comprehensive nursing assessment, plan care and evaluate interventions according to the changing health needs of the patient.

Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to ensure patients' needs are met.

Develop Nurse-Led clinics to provide people with information and support regarding their condition.
