Specialty Doctor in Dermatology (0.5 FTE)NHS

Job summary

Applications are invited for a part time 20 hours/5PAs (0.5 FTE) Specialty Doctor post to work within the busy Dermatology Team at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This is an exciting time for the service as it continues to expand and applications are welcomed from enthusiastic clinicians but to part of this.

The post holder will be managerially accountable to the Clinical Director/General Manager and professionally accountable to the Dermatology Consultants and the Clinical lead for the Specialty.

The post is based at St Luke's Hospital where the Dermatology service is provided however some duties may be required at the Bradford Royal Infirmary site.

The post holder will be an active participant in clinical governance activity, audit and multi disciplinary management meetings.

Main duties of the job

The duties outlined below are not definitive and may be changed in accordance with the needs of the service. The post holder will be expected to undertake the following duties.

Provide a Dermatology service of the highest quality. This includes programmed activities for:

• Dermatology Planned biopsy Clinic

Develop the Dermatology services.

Participate in multi-disciplinary clinical meetings (MDT).

Contribute to the development and maintenance of clinical protocols.

Job description

Ensure that standards are maintained and developed through clinical audit, evidence-based research and appraisal.

Maintain personal professional development in accordance with the requirements of the Royal College and the General Medical Council.

Participate in annual appraisal.

Work in partnership with colleagues in the Dermatology Department.

Work flexibly with colleagues to achieve the hospitals agreed planned activity for Dermatology out-patient services.

Contribute to the development and maintenance of clinical protocols.

Ensure that new techniques (outside ethically approved research projects) are only introduced after appropriate training, with approval of the relevant clinical directorates and with arrangements for evaluation and an audit trail.
