The Council's Infrastructure Service is responsible for delivering a range of front-line services across the city, including highways, engineering, drainage, car parks and enforcement. Following a recent service restructure, we are pleased to invite applications for the position of:
Telford Depot Premises Manager
Location: Telford Depot
We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual for the role of the Depot Premises Manager in the management and operation of Telford Depot, ensuring its safe, secure and efficient day-to-day running.
The successful candidate will support the effective management of the depot, ensuring full compliance with statutory requirements and contributing to the continuous improvement of site operations. Responsibilities will include overseeing buildings, welfare facilities, yard areas, access and security arrangements, stores and operational equipment, ensuring they remain safe, compliant and fit for purpose.
The role requires close liaison and coordination with internal departments, contractors and third-party service providers to maintain high operational standards across the site.
Infrastructure Services also operates an out-of-hours emergency response service covering the highway network, including drainage and highway operations, winter maintenance and other emergency incidents. As such, the postholder must be prepared to be contacted outside normal working hours in relation to depot-related emergencies
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Previous experience in depot supervision, depot management or a similar operational environment.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- The ability to make sound decisions in a responsive and fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence in the use of IT systems and administrative processes.
- A proactive approach to health, safety and continuous improvement.
