Job summary

The Security Manager provides specialist operational leadership for the Trust's security function, ensuring safe, secure environments for patients, staff and visitors. The postholder supports delivery of the Trust's Security Strategy, oversees day-to-day security operations, leads incident response, and ensures compliance with NHS Protect, CQC and Health & Safety legislation. The role leads on security risk assessments, CCTV and access control oversight, violence reduction initiatives, contractor management and staff training. The postholder works closely with clinical, operational and Estates teams to promote a positive safety culture across all Trust premises.

Main duties of the job

• Lead and coordinate day-to-day security operations across Trust sites.
• Conduct security risk assessments and support delivery of the Trust's Security Strategy.
• Oversee CCTV, access control and alarm systems, ensuring compliance with data protection and codes of practice.
• Lead incident response for violence, theft, missing persons and unauthorised access.
• Coordinate security patrols, contractor performance and site inspections.
• Support investigations, evidence gathering and liaison with police and external partners.
• Deliver conflict resolution, violence reduction and security awareness training.
• Maintain accurate security documentation including incident reports, risk assessments, training records, CCTV audit logs and access permissions.
• Prepare reports, dashboards and briefing papers for committees and inspections.
• Contribute to development of security policies, procedures and Trust-wide initiatives.

• Support delivery of the Trusts Security Strategy and compliance with NHS Protect standards, CQC Fundamental Standards, Health & Safety at Work Act, and Violence Prevention and Reduction Standards.
• Coordinate security patrols, contractor performance, site inspections and escalation of risks where required.

Conduct security risk assessments across all Trust premises.

• Lead operational response to securityrelated incidents including violence, theft, missing persons, criminal activity and unauthorised access.
• Support investigations through evidence gathering, CCTV review, witness statements and liaison with police and external agencies.
• Assist with major incident and emergency planning, ensuring security integration into Trust resilience arrangements

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.
