Main duties of the job

The Housekeeping Assistant position at Avery Healthcare involves being an integral part of a team dedicated to maintaining cleanliness and laundry standards in a home setting. This role requires carrying out cleaning duties according to worksheet instructions, understanding different cleaning requirements for various surfaces, and ensuring that residents' personal spaces and belongings are respected. The Assistant must demonstrate knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly in Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments. Experience in cleaning laundry in a public setting is required, along with the need to be compassionate and committed to delivering high-quality housekeeping services to residents. Additionally, the role demands adaptability and flexibility to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Your focus asHousekeepingAssistant will be to work as part of a team, ensuring that all standards of cleanliness and laundry aremaintainedin the home. You willoperateaccording to our standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry, ensuring that hotel service standards aremaintained.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

• Carrying out all cleaning dutiesin accordance withworksheetinstructions.
• Understandingthe cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials, ensuring that all areas are well presented and maintained in good condition.
• Ensuring that all residents are treated with dignity and respect and that their personal space and belongings are always respected.
