We are excited to be recruiting for an opportunity to join Turning Point's highly successful and innovative Talking Therapies service.

At Wakefield Talking Therapies, we provide evidence-based psychological therapies to support people experiencing common mental health difficulties. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) Team Leader to join our friendly and supportive team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced qualified PWP looking to take the next step in their career and develop their leadership skills within a forward-thinking and clinically focused service. You will be required to work in the service for this role.

This is a 12month FTC.

Main duties of the job

As a PWP Team Leader, you will balance clinical and leadership responsibilities, managing your own caseload while providing supervision, line management and professional leadership to PWPs and other low-intensity staff across the service.

You will:

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based low-intensity interventions in line with Talking Therapies guidance.
• Provide clinical case management and line management support, encouraging the development, wellbeing and performance of staff.
• Support the recruitment, induction and ongoing development of team members.
• Work collaboratively with the wider leadership team to ensure safe, effective and responsive service delivery.
• Monitor and manage waiting lists, caseloads, groups and individual capacity to ensure timely access to treatment.
• Use service data and performance information to support service improvement initiatives and achieve key operational targets.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support integrated patient care.
• Champion staff wellbeing, inclusion and continuous professional development within the team.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced, qualified PWP who is passionate about delivering excellent patient care and supporting others to thrive.

You will have:

• An accredited Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner.
• Experience of working within an NHS Talking Therapies service.
• Excellent written, verbal and telephone communication skills.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, with the confidence to manage competing priorities.
• Experience of supporting colleagues through supervision, mentoring or informal leadership responsibilities.
• The ability to build positive working relationships and contribute effectively as part of a multidisciplinary leadership team.
• A commitment to staff wellbeing, service improvement and delivering high-quality patient care.
• Completion of an accredited IAPT/Talking Therapies Supervision Course (essential).
