An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Trust Grade Doctor (SHO/ST1-2 Equivalent) to join the Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department at The Royal London Hospital. This post offers excellent experience within a busy tertiary referral centre, providing comprehensive obstetric and gynaecological services to a diverse population across East London.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across a range of clinical settings including labour ward, antenatal and postnatal wards, emergency gynaecology services, operating theatres and outpatient clinics. Working alongside experienced consultants, registrars, midwives and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the management of both routine and complex cases while developing your clinical and professional skills.

Obstetricso Provide labour ward care under supervisiono Participate in antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal managemento Assist in operative deliveries including caesarean section and instrumental deliveryo Perform perineal repair and CTG interpretationo Participate in obstetric emergencies and HDU careo Conduct ward rounds and patient reviewsGynaecologyo Assess patients in emergency gynaecology and wardso Participate in outpatient clinics under supervisiono Assist and perform emergency procedures including management of ectopic pregnancyo Contribute to elective theatre listsOn-call responsibilitieso Participate in 1:10 SHO rotao Work within a 3-tier rota alongside registrars and consultantso Maintain effective handover and documentationo Respond promptly to emergency referralsTeaching and governance o Attend audit, M&M and governance meetings o Participate in teaching programmes and simulation training o Teach junior staff and students o Contribute to service improvement and incident reportingLeadership and professionalismo Demonstrate WeCare values in daily practiceo Work collaboratively across teamso Maintain accurate clinical records and administrative dutieso Support departmental development and patient experience improvements
