We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Deputy Breast Screening Administrative Services Manager to support the delivery of an efficient, responsive and patient-focused administrative service within the West Berkshire NHS Breast Screening Service.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the NHS breast screening programme, supporting the early detection of breast cancer and helping to improve outcomes for thousands of women across Berkshire.
Main duties of the job
Support the management and coordination of the administrative functions of the West Berkshire Breast Screening Service. Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision and support to administrative staff. Deputise for the Breast Screening Administrative Services Manager when required. Ensure compliance with NHS Breast Screening Programme standards, national guidance, government targets and Trust policies. Monitor and support administrative performance against key operational objectives. Assist with training and staff development. Support service improvement projects and the implementation of new processes. Investigate and resolve administrative issues, escalating where appropriate.

Assists the Breast Screening Administrative Services Manager to ensure the operation of an efficient and effective administration service that meets the needs of the Breast Screening Service; will include monitoring performance against set targets
In the absence of the Breast Screening Administrative Services Manager, prioritises and plans the daily activities of the administrative service, ensuring a consistent level of service delivery; works in cooperation/conjunction with other staff groups
In the absence of the Breast Screening Administrative Services Manager takes responsibility for the management of administrative staff annual leave; ensures that leave requirements are balanced against service needs and that Trust and departmental leave policies are followed
Liaises with Lead Radiographer regarding rotas to ensure that predicted numbers are correct; adjusting clinics as necessary taking into account staffing levels and equipment issues
