Job summary

Job Purpose

To support the delivery of high-quality psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention within the ASD and ADHD service. The post holder will receive supervision from a qualified psychologist. In addition to contributing to assessment, research, audit, and service development in line with clinical governance and CQC requirements.

Main duties of the job

• Assist with the delivery of ASD and ADHD assessments for children (aged 6+) and adults under appropriate supervision.
• Support ADOS-2 observations where trained and authorised. Diagnostic decisions and final reports remain the responsibility of the qualified clinician.
• Administer, score and collate psychometric measures (e.g. Conners 3, SNAP-IV, DIVA, BRIEF).
• Support clinicians in gathering developmental, behavioural and psychosocial information.
• Observe and assist with clinical interviews, assessments and feedback sessions where appropriate.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions and formulation meetings.
• Maintain accurate, timely and confidential records in accordance with GDPR, CQC and organisational requirements.
• Audit, Research and Service Development
• Participate in audits, outcome monitoring and data collection to support quality improvement, service evaluation and NICE compliance.
• Contribute to the development of resources, policies and service improvements.

Professional and Administrative Responsibilities

• Attend regular clinical supervision with the Consultant Psychologist (minimum fortnightly).
• Maintain professional boundaries and practise in accordance with relevant ethical and professional standards.
• Support report preparation, documentation and routine administrative tasks.
• Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team members, clients and external agencies, including GPs and schools.
• Manage communications as required.

Job description

Gather information from schools, families and other relevant sources, obtaining consent, facilitating information sharing, arranging reasonable adjustments, and providing agreed information or signposting following assessment.

Assist with the delivery of ASD and ADHD assessments for children (aged 6+) and adults under appropriate supervision.

Support ADOS-2 observations where trained and authorised. Diagnostic decisions and final reports remain the responsibility of the qualified clinician.

Conduct triage assessments for children and adults within agreed frameworks, escalating safeguarding or risk concerns as required.

Administer, score and collate psychometric measures (e.g. Conners 3, SNAP-IV, DIVA, BRIEF).

Support clinicians in gathering developmental, behavioural and psychosocial information.

Observe and assist with clinical interviews, assessments and feedback sessions where appropriate.

Contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions and formulation meetings.
