Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our Estates and Facilities team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the safe and effective operation of essential hospital infrastructure, helping to create an environment where outstanding patient care can thrive.

Working within a highly skilled team of engineering professionals, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and improving a wide range of mechanical plant, equipment and building services across our hospital sites.

Main duties of the job

As part of our Estates team, you will play a key role in ensuring that critical engineering systems remain safe, reliable and fully compliant.

You will play a vital role in ensuring our engineering systems, plant and equipment remain safe, reliable and compliant, enabling the delivery of exceptional patient care across the Trust.

Experience or knowledge of the following would be advantageous:

• HTM 01 - Decontamination
• HTM 03 - Heating and Ventilation
• HTM 04 - Water Systems
• Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Mechanical plant and building services maintenance
• Statutory compliance requirements and safe systems of work

Job description

Your responsibilities will include:

• Servicing Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs) and carrying out temperature monitoring.
• Undertaking plumbing tasks, including sink and tap installations.
• Performing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and statutory planned maintenance (SPM).
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on a range of engineering plant and equipment.
• Supporting the operation and maintenance of critical hospital systems, including water treatment and steam systems.
• Troubleshooting and resolving faults on Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Calibrating and maintaining mechanical and electrical installations.
• Liaising with departments across the Trust to coordinate maintenance activities and minimise disruption.
• Producing technical reports and condition assessments.
• Assisting with engineering improvement projects and lifecycle planning.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and compliance documentation.
• Participating in the on-call rota and providing out-of-hours support when required.
• Supporting the development of apprentices and colleagues through knowledge sharing and mentoring.
• Working across Frimley Health sites as required.
