Job summary

Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group is entering an ambitious period of clinical, estate and service transformation.

Across Lincolnshire, we are developing new models of care that bring services closer to people's homes, strengthen neighbourhood working and create more integrated community services. At the same time, we are transforming our acute hospital estate and progressing a broader portfolio of capital developments, refurbishments, service relocations and infrastructure improvements across the Group.

We are looking for an exceptional senior nurse to join us asDeputy Director of Nursing - Clinical Capital Projects and Workforce Transformationand provide senior clinical leadership across this wider Estates and Capital portfolio.

This is a unique opportunity to influence how our buildings, workforce and models of care develop together.

The postholder will act as the senior clinical bridge between Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals, Care Groups, operational services and our Estates and Capital teams.

You will ensure that clinical requirements are embedded not only within major new-build schemes, but across the broader capital portfolio.

Main duties of the job

A major focus of the role will be clinical workforce transformation.

You will work alongside Care Groups to ensure that investment in the estate is matched by a clear future operating model and workforce transformation plan. This means making sure we do not simply move existing ways of working into new buildings, but use capital investment as an opportunity to redesign pathways, roles, skill mix, technology and multidisciplinary working.

You will also ensure that workforce and clinical requirements are considered early enough to influence estate and capital planning, rather than being addressed once designs have already been developed.

You will contribute to the strategic development of the Group's Estates and Capital portfolio, helping to ensure investment decisions are informed by:

• future clinical strategy;
• population and patient need;
• workforce sustainability;
• neighbourhood models of care;
• acute service transformation;
• patient safety and quality;
• clinical adjacencies and patient flow;
• digital transformation;
• workforce productivity;
• accessibility and health inequalities; and
• long-term service sustainability.

You will provide a strong clinical voice into estate prioritisation and capital planning, helping the organisation understand not onlywhat we need to build, buthow services will operate within it and what workforce will be required to make it successful.

Job description

The successful candidate will:

• provide senior clinical leadership across the Groups wider Estates and Capital portfolio;
• contribute to strategic estate planning and prioritisation from a clinical and workforce perspective;
• ensure clinical strategy and future models of care inform capital investment decisions;
• lead clinical workforce transformation associated with major estate and capital developments;
• support Care Groups to develop future workforce establishments, skill mix, leadership models and mobilisation plans;
• ensure nursing, midwifery, AHP and wider clinical teams are meaningfully involved in design and estate decisions;
• provide clinical assurance throughout design, refurbishment, construction, commissioning and opening;
• lead the clinical component of operational readiness and workforce mobilisation;
• contribute to strategic outline cases, outline business cases, full business cases and capital prioritisation processes;
• identify and escalate clinical, workforce and operational risks associated with estate developments;
• provide advice and assurance to the Group Chief Nurse and Estates and Capital governance;
• develop Group-wide clinical design and operational-readiness standards;
• support benefits realisation across the wider capital portfolio;
• lead research, benchmarking and post-occupancy evaluation; and
• ensure learning from individual schemes informs future estate developments across LCHG.
