Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join the Property & Facilities Management Team at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.

We are looking for a proactive and experienced professional with a strong background in construction, engineering, surveying or design to lead the delivery of a varied portfolio of capital projects across Frimley Health and community sites.

You will have delegated responsibility for taking individual schemes from initial feasibility and design through to construction and completion, with accountability for project budgets, quality, programme and overall delivery. Projects will include new build, refurbishment, backlog maintenance and other capital works, providing an excellent opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the Trust's estate.

Main duties of the job

You will lead a diverse portfolio of major and minor capital projects across the Trust estate and wider Frimley Health Integrated Care System (ICS). This is a varied role that will see you working closely with clinical and operational teams, Estates and Facilities colleagues, Capital Directors, Estates Managers and CAD Technicians, alongside external consultants, contractors and other key stakeholders.

Job description

You will manage a diverse portfolio of major and minor capital projects across the Trust estate and wider Frimley Health Integrated Care System (ICS).

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading feasibility studies and design development, including the preparation of whole-scheme budget estimates.
• Developing project briefs with end users and ensuring requirements are clearly defined, agreed and approved.
• Coordinating detailed design information with internal and external design teams.
• Managing projects from inception through to completion, both on and off site.
• Monitoring project budgets, programmes and financial risks, taking early action where required.
• Providing professional and technical advice on capital projects and estate development.
• Identifying appropriate procurement routes in line with Trust Standing Orders and Standing Financial Instructions (SFIs).
• Preparing technical specifications and tender documentation for smaller capital schemes and managing the associated tender processes.
• Managing external consultants and contractors, monitoring performance and ensuring high standards of workmanship.
• Building effective relationships with clinical, operational and Estates and Facilities colleagues to ensure project requirements are understood and delivered.
• Providing clear and timely progress updates and formal project reports, including fortnightly reporting where required.
• Maintaining accurate electronic project records, CAD information and technical documentation.
• Ensuring accurate as-built and as-installed drawings are obtained and maintained for completed projects.
• Ensuring projects comply with relevant legislation, Trust policies, procedures, contractual requirements and governance arrangements.
• Supporting the Associate Director of Hard FM with delivery of the capital programme and contributing to the strategic development of the Trust estate.
• Working flexibly across the Frimley Health ICS patch as required.

Health and Safety You will be responsible for ensuring that construction and project activities within your areas of responsibility are undertaken safely and in accordance with relevant legislation, Trust policies and procedures.

This will include ensuring appropriate health and safety information, guidance and training is provided to staff, contractors and other site users, while taking reasonable care of your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your work.

About You We are seeking a solutions-focused and professionally experienced Project Manager who can demonstrate substantial experience of delivering complex capital schemes.

You will have excellent project management and communication skills, with the confidence to:

• Manage budgets and identify financial risks.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
• Engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Manage competing priorities and deliver projects to agreed timescales.
• Resolve challenges proactively and maintain momentum throughout the project lifecycle.
• Work collaboratively while taking ownership of your projects and their outcomes.

A 'can-do' attitude, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage projects from concept through to completion are essential.
