Make a Difference to Patients Living with Head and Neck Cancer Croydon Health Services NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate and highly motivated Head & Neck Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our Cancer Services Team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient-centred care and supporting individuals throughout their cancer pathway. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing specialist nursing support to patients undergoing investigation, treatment and follow-up for head and neck cancers.

Working closely with our multidisciplinary team, you will become an integral part of a service that is committed to delivering high-quality, holistic care while ensuring patients and their families receive expert guidance and support at every stage of their journey.

Main duties of the job

• Undertake specialist telephone triage and assessment for patients with suspected or confirmed head and neck cancer.
• Provide expert nursing support within head and neck outpatient clinics.
• Act as a key worker for patients, coordinating care across the cancer pathway.
• Support patients and families during complex and sensitive conversations, including receiving and understanding difficult diagnoses.
• Participate in clinics where diagnosis and treatment plans are discussed, ensuring patients have access to appropriate information and support.
• Deliver holistic needs assessments and develop personalised care plans.
• Work collaborativelywith consultants, allied health professionals, speech and language therapists, dietitians and wider cancer teams.
• Contribute to service development, audit and quality improvement initiatives.
