An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated CT Radiographer to join The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre as a Band 7 Clinical Specialist in CT based at the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at Paddington Village, Liverpool.

As the Clinical Specialist, you will provide expert clinical leadership and operational support for the CT service, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred imaging. Working within a modern CDC environment, you will play a role in improving access to diagnostics, supporting earlier diagnosis and delivering an excellent patient experience.

You will lead and support the CT team, oversee day-to-day service delivery, contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives, and work with radiologists, managers and multidisciplinary colleagues to optimise patient pathways and maximise diagnostic capacity.

The successful candidate will be an HCPC-registered Radiographer with recent CT experience, strong leadership skills and a commitment to delivering outstanding patient care. This is an excellent opportunity to help shape and develop CT services within our diagnostic facility.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Specialist in CT to provide clinical leadership and operational management of the CT service within Radiology, ensuring the delivery of a safe, efficient, high-quality and patient-centred imaging service.

Key responsibilities include leading the day-to-day operation of the CT service, managing workflow and patient pathways, and maintaining high standards of care. The post holder will provide professional leadership, supervision, appraisal, training and development for CT staff, supporting workforce capability and service resilience.

The role involves performing and overseeing a range of routine and specialist CT examinations, including the administration of contrast agents, and acting as an Operator and Justifier under IR(ME)R. Working closely with Consultant Radiologists, Imaging Physicists and multidisciplinary teams, the post holder will support protocol optimisation, service improvement and regulatory compliance.

Additional responsibilities include supporting quality assurance, clinical governance, risk management, audit and accreditation activities, providing specialist advice to patients and clinicians, contributing to service development, and supporting the education and development of radiography staff and students.
