Newport City Council are currently looking to recruit to the position of Residential Homes Manager on a full time permanent basis and are seeking applications from individuals with a strong and extensive adult care management background.


We are committed to providing quality person centred care for people living with both physical and mental health issues; we provide accommodation, care and support over three sites. This post will be initially based within Blaen Y Pant House.


• Parklands Residential Home, Malpas for up to 26 people.
• Blaen Y Pant House, Malpas for up to 32 people.
• Spring Gardens, Pillgwenlly for up to 32 people.


We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, confident and enthusiastic leader to manage and co-ordinate services provided within our Adult Residential Homes. You will need to be a team player and someone that has the ability to motivate others to ensure we maintain the highest standard of care in line with the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care Act.


You will possess strong supervisory skills and have the right qualities required to lead and motivate a staff team. You will be confident in decision making and will have lead responsibility for a range of work streams across the service and good practice developments within the service.


You will spend your time taking a leading role in staff recruitment and disciplinary issues, coaching and supporting the Deputy Managers within the homes. You will ensure the teams deliver excellent person centred care by helping each resident achieve their wellbeing outcomes on a daily basis.


You will have the ability to work on your own initiative, be computer literate and well organised. Qualified to at least Level 5 in Health and Social Care (Adults) or equivalent and will be required to be registered by the Registration Authority (Social Care Wales) and to meet the requirements relating to ‘suitable fitness and integrity to manage a Care Home’
