Job summary
We are seeking a compassionate, organised, and proactive HR Coordinator to join our team.
As a HR Coordinator you will be responsible for coordinating and supporting the human resources activities within the practice. Working under the direction of the Managing Partner, the post holder will manage all aspects of the employee life cycle for employees at Adur Health Partnership.
The role involves recruitment, onboarding, probation, appraisals, training and development, absence monitoring and management, performance and engagement management, grievance and disciplinary, retention, and exit.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about HR and the employee life cycle and wants to make a difference to the clinical and non-clinical workforce of a large multi-site GP practice.
Main duties of the job
You will act as a central point of contact for our clinical and non-clinical workforce in regard to all aspects of human resources.
The role helps to support the Executive Team and Team Leads/Managers by operating robust and efficient recruitment drives, posting and managing vacancy adverts, liaising with candidates, arranging interviews etc. and all aspects of the employee life cycle that follow, right through to exit and the leavers process, including exit interviews.
This role is ideal for someone who has experience of working in human resources, passionate about staff wellbeing and is CIPD Level 3 qualified. Experience in a healthcare setting is desirable, but not essential for this role. The successful candidate will be based at our Northbourne site and will be expected to travel between the practices as required, all based within Shoreham and Southwick.
Job description
The following are the core responsibilities of the HR Coordinator. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.
The HR Coordinator supports in the following areas:
- Support the Executive Team and Team Leads/Managers by operating robust and efficient recruitment drives; posting and managing vacancy adverts, liaising with candidates, arranging interviews etc.
- Screen candidates in line with UK and NHS standards.
- Process all pre-employment checks, including background and reference checks.
- Assist with the creation of employment documents for new starters and current employees, in line with employment and UK law.
- Liaise with Team Leads/Managers to organise effective and appropriate induction programmes.
- Welcome new starters in person and ensure all required paperwork is signed on first day.
- Update HR trackers such as maternity, paternity, right to work, probation, performance, reviews and appraisals.
- Keep the HR system up to date and manage the employee life cycle, including leaver checklists.
- Oversee the shared HR email account and manage queries/submissions.
- Prepare electronic HR files, ensuring all appropriate documents are saved and named as per protocol.
- Monthly reporting of NWRS data, ensuring it is accurate and met within the requested deadline.
- Running and reviewing HR reports such as annual leave and sickness, liaising with the Executive Team for HR and Finance as necessary.
- Support with HR projects such as performance management, EDI and Wellbeing.
- Produce HR correspondence for recruitment, performance management and confirmation of employee changes.
- Assist with identifying key changes and improvements within HR processes and procedures, whilst gaining wider understanding of key polices.
- Apply introductory level employment law to advice and queries.
