The Resourcing Team
The Resourcing Team are responsible for all aspects of staff recruitment including advertising new roles, providing professional advice on recruitment and selection including immigration issues, and co-ordinating the bulk of administrative recruitment activity for posts at all levels across the University and also its subsidiary companies: University of Essex Campus Services and Wivenhoe House Hotel.
Duties of the Role
The primary role of the Compliance Adviser is to ensure the University is compliant with all aspects of immigration legislation and its visa sponsorship requirements relating to staff.
Key responsibilities will fall under the following categories:
Risk Assessment
Policy and Strategy Development
Monitoring and Reporting
Training and Support
Investigation and Resolution
Audits

Skills and qualifications required
The successful candidate will possess knowledge and experience in application of UK immigration legislation and UKVI guidance. In addition, this knowledge will extend to employment legislation and good practice, in relation to recruitment and equality matters.
The workload is varied with rapidly changing priorities, so it is of the utmost importance that you can always organise and maintain the highest level of detail, remaining calm whilst often making time critical decisions.
This is a fixed-term, part-time role for 28.8 hours per week (0.8 FTE). The working pattern is flexible and can be discussed with the successful candidate.
This appointment is for a fixed-term of 12 months in order to provide cover for a permanent member of staff who is absent from work on maternity leave.
