You need to:
- be calm and also able to work under pressure.
- Work within a supportive team, yet work independently.
- Ideally have had health care experience which will enable you to support the patients that you assess.
We will provide training in the following areas if you are not competent in them:
- Taking Blood Samples
- MRSA Screening
- ECG's and vital observations
Main duties of the job
We want you to join our team and if you are the successful candidate you will be involved in enhancing the patient's pathway from referral to surgery, on to Pre-operative Assessment and then their surgical procedure.
The Pre-operative Assessment Unit assesses bothIn-PatientsandDay Surgery Patients. You will use your assessment skills and clinical competencies daily and develop many new ones too!
We are looking to cover 5 days per week. Shift hours vary daily and the Unit is operational between 08.00 and 19:30 Monday - Friday.

Job description
To undertake investigations and provide patient information to elective surgical patients, in support of and supervised by registered Nurses. This includes Inpatient and Day Surgery pre assessment.
