Job summary
We are seeking a Specialist Registered Dermatology Consultant to join our community-based team at Health Harmonie. This role involves delivering consultant-led dermatology services closer to patients homes, reducing waiting times and improving access to specialist care in partnership with the NHS. You will manage a wide range of dermatological conditions and perform diagnostic and minor surgical procedures in a modern, patient-focused environment.
Main duties of the job
As a Dermatology Consultant, you will provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients presenting with various skin conditions. These include chronic eczema, psoriasis, acne, rosacea, skin infections, and benign or malignant skin lesions. You will also perform minor surgical procedures such as excisions, biopsies, cryotherapy, and intralesional injections.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough clinical consultations and developing appropriate treatment plans.
- Performing diagnostic procedures, including dermoscopy and skin biopsies.
- Managing minor surgical interventions for skin lesions.
- Ensuring compliance with clinical governance, CQC standards, and NHS interface guidance.
- Assessing and managing patients within the agreed dermatology inclusion criteria.

As a Dermatology Consultant, you will provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients presenting with various skin conditions. These include chronic eczema, psoriasis, acne, rosacea, skin infections, and benign or malignant skin lesions. You will also perform minor surgical procedures such as excisions, biopsies, cryotherapy, and intralesional injections.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting clinical consultations, assessment and treatment planning.
- Performing diagnostic procedures, including dermoscopy and skin biopsies.
- Managing minor surgical procedures and cryotherapy for appropriate skin lesions.
- Providing patch testing and management of a range of dermatological conditions.
- Working within clinical governance, CQC standards and NHS interface guidance.
Patient inclusion criteria include: adults aged 18+ presenting with rashes, inflammatory skin conditions, moderate to severe eczema or psoriasis, diagnostic uncertainty, alopecia, recurrent infections, high-risk BCCs, Bowens disease, actinic keratosis, keloid scars, urticaria, solar lentigines, pyogenic granulomata, dermatofibromata and nail dystrophy.
Person Specification
- GMC registration with Specialist Dermatology accreditation.
- Completed specialist training in Dermatology (Consultant level or equivalent).
- Strong diagnostic and procedural skills in dermatology and minor surgery.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Previous experience in outpatient or community dermatology services is desirable.
- DBS clearance required.
