We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Primary Care Nurse to join our Planned Care team, a category B Prison located in Bicester, Oxford.

This role will be to cover Inpatient unit, Segregation and Outpatient clinics.    Free parking, free gym, a great reputation for new starter inductions offering supportive, hands on and in-depth training! Easily commutable by bus.  Hours

37.5 hours a week, working across 7 days working either 7am-5pm or 7am-7pm, with every other weekend either 7am-5pm or 7.30am-5.30pm. A week of nights 6 times throughout the year is required, however we can be flexible around when you would like to work them, working from 7pm-7am.

Salary

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £54,397 per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Primary Care Nurse your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions
  • Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
  • Use your skills and knowledge to deliver nurse led clinics to your patient group whilst being supported by a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders
  • Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.
  • Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications required:

  • Registered nurse Adult
  • Current professional qualification (NMC)
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Staff Management - Desirable
  • Experience of Nurse in Charge / Shift Coordination
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
