An exciting opportunity to work in the Family First Service in South End. This is a joint funded position between SET CAMHS and South End Social care. The Families First Partnership (FFP) is a national programme transforming how children, young people and families are supported. Through Families First, we aim to: improve outcomes for children and families through earlier, more effective support strengthen collaboration between agencies so families experience co-ordinated help reduce pressure on crisis services by preventing problems from escalating empower families to take an active role in shaping plans and decisions use partnership resources more effectively across the system
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with the Family First Manager and SET CAMHS Manager to help support the delivery of psychological support. They will be responsible for assessment, treatment and deliver of service outcomes. The post holder would require a Professional registration (HCPC/NCM, UKCP/BABCP/AFT/SWE) and/or accreditation. This post would suit clinicians with experience working with young people who present with mental health disorders, adapting support for young people with neurodevelopment issues and working with the wider systems including education, social care, Acute Hospital, Psychiatric Hospitals and family/carers.
Job description
Key Responsibilities and Clinical skills required:
Promoting the mental and emotional health of children, young people and families in the community through clinical interventions in the locality team. To prevent more serious mental health problems in children and young people by early identification of the development of mental health problems in children and young people
Providing a direct service to children and young people and their families, in an accessible and less stigmatizing environment, based on the best available research evidence, within clinical governance.
Working alongside other colleagues in SET CAMHS in order to provide an in-depth comprehensive assessment of the child’s, young person’s, and family’s functioning where there is a constellation of high dysfunction and severe and highly complex mental health problems in the family. To formulate their strengths and difficulties and to determine the most appropriate treatment plan.
To provide NICE concordant therapeutic interventions (including parent/child work, group work, parent support input, psycho-education and brief individual work with children and young people) to children and young people with complex mental health difficulties including neurodevelopmental disorders such as autistic spectrum disorders, learning difficulties, ADHD; emotional difficulties, including depression and anxiety states; attachment disorders; conduct disorders, eating disorders; post-traumatic stress disorder; psychosomatic disorders; enuresis/encopresis, aggression, borderline states, self-harming, substance misuse and other behavior potentially dangerous to the child/young person or others.
Experience of complex risk formulation and collaborative safety planning. Experience of partnership working across systems around a child or young person and their family where there are safeguarding and mental health concerns.
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary Period
