Specialist Grade Doctor Dunstable CMHTNHS
Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, and motivated Specialtist doctor to join our outstanding community Service.
This post would be ideally suited for a doctor, who has a minimum of 12 years experience in clinical psychiatry practice, and is interested in working in a specialist doctor position in psychiatry outside of a Training position.
A successful candidate would have the option of continuing ongoing work in a specialtist doctor position, or considering the option of applying for Speciality Training in Psychiatry in the future. An alternative career path would be progression as a specialist doctor and with the possibility of gaining a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) via Article 14 route once required experience can be evidenced in the future.
The post-holder will work under the supervision of a consultant psychiatrist and will be integral to a multidisciplinary team, accessing local CPD activities as appropriate.
Main duties of the job
o 10 PAso The specialist doctor will work autonomously to a level of defined competencies, as agreed with the local clinical governance framework.o Specialist Doctor will provide the expertise in specialized area and work closely with the consultant and multi disciplinary team.o The doctor will provide clinical support for the assessment and management of mental health problems on a routine and emergency basis.o 8 Programmed Activities per week will be devoted to Direct Clinical Care. Care of patients in the community in Dunstable CMHT, in the Functional Model."o 2 Sessions will be for supporting professional activitieso Specialist Doctor will assess new referrals and review existing patients. 6 to 7 out-patient clinics per week either at the base of the Dunstable CMHT or designated GP Surgery.
o Additional clinics to see patients in emergency &/ provide telephone contact with patients and their carer's to manage urgent queries.
o CPA meetings, Professional meetings, Case Conferences and home visits as necessary.o Liaise with team members and provide telephone and face to face contact to members of the team and see patients urgently.
o Triage referrals regularly in Blended triage meetings to provide a safe, prompt and appropriate service to the person who was referred.o Provide face to face and telephone liaison service to other secondary mental health teams, General Practitioners and Primary care workers
