Job summary
The Respiratory Clinical Assessment Service (RCAS) and Virtual Ward (COPD) Specialist Nurse will deliver high-quality, patient-centred respiratory care across acute, community and virtual care settings. The post holder will support the operational and clinical delivery of the service and, in the absence of the Senior Respiratory Nurse Specialist, assist in ensuring safe, effective and responsive service provision
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for delivering specialist respiratory nursing care across the Respiratory Clinical Assessment Service (RCAS), Respiratory Virtual Ward and wider respiratory services. Responsibilities include clinical assessment, treatment planning, patient monitoring, care coordination, admission avoidance, early supported discharge, patient education, multidisciplinary working, service development, quality improvement, audit and professional leadership. The role requires autonomous practice, effective use of digital health technologies and contribution to workforce development.
