Job summary
We are looking for an organised and approachable Employee Relations Assistant to provide a comprehensive administrative and employee relations support service. Acting as a first point of contact, you will respond to queries from managers, employees and external parties to support employee relations activities. For an organised, professional and customer-focused administrator with a keen interest in enhancing employee experience, this varied role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your knowledge of employee relations and wider people practices within a supportive team. The post also provides a valuable development opportunity for someone wishing to progress towards an Employee Relations Advisor or other people management role. On-site working in our friendly office is a requirement for this role.
Main duties of the job
This is a varied role supporting the delivery of a high quality, effective and efficient employee relations service within a large and complex organisation. The Employee Relations Assistant role involves providing information on people policies and procedures, maintaining accurate and confidential records, supporting arrangements for formal meetings, undertaking employer compliance activities, responding to information requests and assisting the team in providing lower-complexity advice and casework support, with appropriate guidance. You will utilise your strong communication and interpersonal skills to respond to enquiries and liaise with a range of colleagues at all levels from across the organisation as well as external stakeholders, working alongside the Employee Relations Manager and Advisors, as well as other People Directorate colleagues as appropriate. With your excellent IT, digital and administrative abilities, methodical approach and attention to detail, you will ensure accurate and timely record-keeping and contribute to process improvements and the development of internal systems, as well as undertaking ad-hoc projects to support wider People initiatives.
