Exciting opportunity for compassionate Midwives to join our Maternity.
Development Band 5/6 role with opportunity to build experience across range of maternity settings, incl. community and hospital-based services. We are looking for those who share commitment to providing safe, personalised and evidence-based care, supporting service users to make informed choices throughout their pregnancy, birth and postnatal journey.
Service provides Midwifery and Consultant-Led care, with strong focus on safety, quality improvement, personalised care, and continuous learning. Through rotation working, you will have opportunity to develop range of skills and experience whilst being supported by experienced multi-disciplinary team.
We are committed to supporting development, confidence and wellbeing of our midwifery workforce. Supported from dedicated Practice Development Team, Midwifery Advocates and Leaders who are passionate.
Newly-qualified Midwives will be Appointed at Band 5 and supported via our preceptorship programme, clinical supervision and competency framework to develop to Band 6 practice.

Main duties of the job
Responsible for delivering safe, effective and compassionate care across Maternity.
Role includes:
Delivering high-quality care across antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal.
Support women and families to make informed choices through personalised care, informed choice and shared decision-making.
Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and seamless care.
Recognising and escalating clinical concerns appropriately to support safety etc. of women and babies.
Participate in quality improvement, patient safety and incident learning activities to improve services.
Support education and development of students, newly-qualified midwives and colleagues.
Participate in rotation working across Maternity, contributing to delivery of 24-hour service.
Service operates 24/7 all year. Participate in shifts incl. days, nights, weekends and Bank Hols. May also be needed for on-call rota, providing support within designated areas during periods of escalation/increased demand, with support available through on-call management.
Must be a current UK NMC Registered Midwife or be due to qualify (in next six months) from approved UK Midwifery programme. Should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, commitment to evidence-based practice, and ability to work effectively both independently and part of MDT.

Job description
The Post is rotational throughout Maternity Services, providing care to women during pregnancy, labour/birth and the postnatal period. To be responsible and accountable for the delivery of safe, effective and compassionate midwifery care for women, babies and families within their care. To exercise accountability as set out in the NMC Code, ensuring that professional standards are always maintained. To support, supervise and contribute to the development of students, newly-qualified midwives and colleagues, acting as a positive role model. Support the shift leader or Team Leader to ensure organisational goals/objectives are met. To ensure clear and effective communication with all members of the multi disciplinary team. To comply with the Trust's vision, values and behavioural compact.
