Responsibilities include cleaning duties, understanding cleaning requirements for different surfaces, laundry duties, and ensuring all residents are treated with dignity and respect. The role requires knowledge of Health and Safety, experience in cleaning laundry publicly, and the ability to be flexible with responsibilities. A DBS Disclosure check is required, for which Avery Healthcare will cover the cost.

Your focus asHousekeepingAssistant will be to work as part of a team, ensuring that all standards of cleanliness and laundry aremaintainedin the home. You willoperateaccording to our standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry, ensuring that hotel service standards aremaintained.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

  • Carrying out all cleaning dutiesin accordance withworksheetinstructions.
  • Understandingthe cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials, ensuring that all areas are well presented and maintained in good condition.
  • Ensuring that all residents are treated with dignity and respect and that their personal space and belongings are always respected.
  • Carrying out all laundering duties.
  • Understanding wash guide instructions, laundering requirements of a wide range of textiles and the properties of cleaning materials to ensure that all areas are well presented and maintained in good condition.

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
  • Experience of cleaning laundry in a public setting.
  • Demonstrate compassion and commitment to the delivery of high-quality housekeeping/laundry service to residents.
  • The ability to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
