Job summary
We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, ambitious and motivated Diagnostic Radiographer to join our highly skilled and friendly imaging team, delivering excellent patient care at Barts Health NHS Trust.
Applicants must hold a BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or the Diploma of the College of Radiographers, or an equivalent recognised qualification. Applicants must also be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
The post holder will be required to participate in the department's 24/7, 365-day Agenda for Change (AfC) shift pattern, including out-of-hours, weekend and night working as required.
We welcome applications from both experienced Band 5 radiographers and newly qualified radiographers looking to begin and develop their careers within a large, diverse and supportive NHS organisation.
Main duties of the job
- The successful candidate will have the opportunity to consolidate and develop their radiographic skills while working as part of an experienced and supportive multidisciplinary team.
- Working within a multi-disciplinary team the post-holder will contribute to the safe and effective running of the imaging department and will be able to perform a wide range of x-ray examinations to a high standard.
- The post holder will be required to rotate through ED and general x-ray, fluoroscopy, and theatres and they will participate in the delivery of a 24/7, 365 service. The post holder will offer supervision to assistant practitioners, imaging assistants, students/apprentices and visitors to the imaging department.
- The post holder will ensure patient flow in the trust by actively participating in the the flow of emergency and in-patients to ensure same day imaging.
- The post holder will be key in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and experience. The post holder at all time will demonstrate a high level of professionalism and act in accordance with the HCPC standards of proficiency. Furthermore, they are expected to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with other staff members characterized by trust, mutual respect and open, honest communication.
