Job summary
**This position is open to staff working at the Trust in the 'ECT Family' this includes currentEast Cheshire NHS Trust employees,both NHSP and ECT bank staff, ISS staff and volunteers at the Trust. Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications from applicants not listed within these groups.**
The role of the Senior Clinical Support Worker is to work under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse to provide the highest possible standard of essentially care for patients and their family's carer.
The postholder will work under the direction of the Registered nurse to Provide and deliver ahigh standard of compassionate personal care recognising and meeting the specific needs ofthe patients, they will assist in planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualprogrammes of care for patient.
Under the direction of the Registered Nurse they will undertake a range of delegated clinicalcare duties including personal care duties, recording patient observations and changes topatient clinical conditions and carry out clinical care duties in line with the Clinical Competencyframework included in appendix 1, under the Senior Clinical Support Worker section.
The post holder will be required to participate in a 24-hour shift pattern and possible rotation between wards within their speciality.
Hours per week: 37.50
Main duties of the job
- General bed making/making up of clean beds in readiness for new admissions, and operation beds. (Refer to policy for the care of mattresses and beds).
- Clear and clean vacated bed spaces and prepare ready for use according to the ward/unit protocol.
- Prepare used linen bags for collection by Porters and ensure adequate supply of linen bags/skips ready for use.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment in all areas.
- Safe disposal of clinical waste and sharps as per Trust policy
- Be familiar with Trust policy and procedure for reporting clinical incidents, reporting of incidents if they occur. Assist in the safe handling of patient's valuables and property Support with clerical duties in the absence of or in support of the Ward Clerk (e.g., reception/ telephone duties / filing) to ensure a smooth-running service.
