Want to help shape the global conversation on climate, democracy, artificial intelligence, international security and effective government?

About the role

We are seeking an outstanding Media and Communications Officer to help tell the stories that matter. Working at one of the world's leading public policy schools, you will bring cutting-edge research, influential ideas and inspiring people to audiences around the world.

At a time of profound global change, the Blavatnik School of Government is shaping debate and driving real-world impact. Through our world-class research, teaching and convening power, we work to improve governance and equip current and future leaders to tackle society's most pressing challenges.

You will play a key role in raising the profile of the School and its experts, identifying compelling stories, securing media coverage, and communicating our work to policymakers, partners, funders, prospective students and global audiences.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of public policy, academia and current affairs, supporting a vibrant community of researchers, practitioners and future leaders.

Working closely with senior communications colleagues, you will develop media opportunities, support academics engaging with the press, produce high-quality content, and help protect and enhance the School's reputation.

About you

You are an exceptional writer, able to produce clear, concise and accurate content for a range of audiences and channels. Intellectually curious and a quick learner, you will be comfortable working with complex ideas and exercising sound judgement. You will have experience of working with media and communications channels to place stories, build relationships and identify opportunities for proactive coverage.

You are highly collaborative with excellent interpersonal skills, able to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels. Above all, you will be motivated by the mission of the School and have a good understanding of current affairs, public policy and global challenges.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Helen Etheridge, Executive Director of Communications and Events ([email protected])

Application Process

You will be required to upload a supporting statement, your CV and the details of two referees as part of your online application.

The closing date for applications is 12 noon (UK time) on Wednesday, 11 November 2026. In-person interviews are expected to take place at the School in the week beginning 23 November 2026.
