Neighbourhood Mental Health Teams (Complex Needs Service Line)

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Clinical or Counselling Psychologist with advanced skills in psychological assessment, formulation and intervention for adults with complex mental health needs. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong clinical leadership, excellent multidisciplinary working, and the ability to provide consultation, supervision and support to colleagues.

You will be committed to delivering high-quality, trauma-informed and recovery-focused care, with experience of service development, quality improvement and psychologically informed practice. Excellent communication, relationship-building and partnership-working skills are essential, along with a commitment to equality, inclusion and co-production.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of Neighbourhood Mental Health Teams while being supported by experienced Principal and Consultant Psychologists within a strong professional psychology network.

Main duties of the job

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and experienced Practitioner Psychologist to provide clinical leadership and specialist psychological support within community mental health services. The post holder will be responsible for delivering high quality, trauma-informed psychological assessment, formulation, intervention and consultation for people with complex mental health needs, including cognitive assessment and risk management. Working collaboratively with service users, carers and multidisciplinary colleagues, they will promote personalised, recovery-focused care, uphold professional and statutory responsibilities, and contribute to safeguarding, equality and inclusion.The role includes leadership of psychological practice, supervision and appraisal of psychologists and trainees, development of staff training, participation in research, audit and service improvement, and contribution to policy, care pathway and workforce development. The successful candidate will work across an integrated neighbourhood team, helping to build strong partnerships with health, social care, voluntary sector and community organisations to improve outcomes, reduce inequalities and support delivery of the Community Mental Health Framework.
