Posted 11 September 2026 Closing date 20 September 2026

About the role

Are you an experienced student administration professional with strong people management, analytical and problem-solving skills? As our Student Records Manager (Department Services), you will lead the delivery and continuous improvement of high-quality student records services for a portfolio of academic departments, supporting students throughout the academic lifecycle.

You will lead and develop a team of Student Records Officers, build strong relationships with academic and professional services colleagues and play a key role in improving processes, data quality and the student and staff experience at Imperial.

What you would be doing

You will provide operational leadership for department-facing student records services, working closely with academic departments, Faculties, Registry and colleagues across the University. You will:

Lead and develop a team of Student Records Officers, creating a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture.

Manage workloads and priorities to ensure an effective and responsive service throughout the academic cycle.

Oversee key student records activities, ensuring processes are accurate, efficient and compliant with relevant regulations and policies.

Monitor data quality and use reporting and analysis to identify issues, manage risk and support decision-making.

Provide guidance and escalation support to academic departments and lead the resolution of complex student cases.

Identify and deliver service and process improvements, increasing efficiency and enhancing the student and staff experience.

Develop and maintain effective processes, business rules and documentation, building expertise in Imperial’s student records systems.

What we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced and collaborative professional who can combine strong operational leadership with excellent customer service, analytical thinking and a commitment to continuous improvement.

You will bring experience of working in a complex organisation, ideally higher education, with experience managing staff and using student management information systems. You will have strong analytical, digital and organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities. You will be a confident communicator and relationship builder, able to interpret regulations, solve complex problems and work collaboratively. A proactive, flexible approach and understanding of GDPR and best practice in managing personal data are essential.

What we can offer you

A varied leadership role spanning people management, student administration, data, systems, stakeholder engagement and business improvement.

A collaborative and developmental role offering broad student records expertise and opportunities to improve services across Imperial.

An inclusive environment where excellence, integrity, innovation and teamwork are valued.

The opportunity to develop your career at a world-leading institution and contribute to our mission to use science for humanity.

A sector-leading salary and remuneration package, including 43 days’ annual leave and generous pension schemes.

A range of benefits including flexible working from day one, generous family leave, on-site leisure facilities, cycle-to-work and interest-free season ticket loans.

A diverse and inclusive culture with staff networks and resources supporting personal and professional wellbeing.
