Job summary

We are looking for a permanent part-time Medical Receptionist to join our team based at The Whitswood Practice part of Better Health MCR. The post is 16 hours per week: Wednesday: 8:30-13:45, Thursday 08:30-14:00, Friday 13:00 - 18:15.

The postholder will be required to work flexibly and to provide cover for absence and busy periods. As part of this, they may be required to work Saturdays. There may also be a requirement for the postholder to work at our other practices from time to time.

Salary will be within the range £26,300 to £27,581 (pro rata for part time) depending on experience. We offer 5.4 - 6.6 weeks holiday plus bank holidays (pro rata) and optional membership of the NHS Pension Scheme

Main duties of the job

Working as part of the Reception Team to provide the practices front-of-house service, including welcoming patients and visitors, understanding and interpreting patients needs, resolving queries where possible or signposting patients to the appropriate service or appointment. The team also carries out some administrative tasks. The team must provide a responsive, courteous, calm and efficient service at all times, to enable and support patient care. The team has to respond to circumstances and a positive and flexible approach is required.

The post is part-time (16 hours per week) and will be mostly based at The Whitswood Practice, Alexandra Park Health Centre, although you will need to be able to travel to our other sites if needed.

Salary will be in the range £26,300 to £27,581 depending on experience (pro rata to full time of 37.5 hours per week). We offer membership of the NHS Pension Scheme and 5.4-6.6 weeks' holiday (depending on NHS service) plus bank holidays (pro rata). [The post is not subject to Agenda for Change terms and conditions.]
