Main duties of the job

To be successful as a Care Assistant at Avery Healthcare, you'll embody the values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable in all that you do. While experience in care isnt required, a thorough induction and training programme ensures confidence within the role. As a Care Assistant, you'll assist residents in personal hygiene care, maintaining their dignity and independence, and addressing clinical risks such as weight loss and pressure sores. Effective communication and the ability to act courteously towards residents and their visitors are essential. You should be flexible and adaptive, able to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice, ensuring high standards of personal care alongside a dedicated team.

Your focus as Care Assistant will be to deliver high standards of personal care, contributing fully to the care team to ensure continuity of services to residents.

Other responsibilities will include:

• Assisting residents in all their personal hygiene care ensuring optimum independence, dignity and respect of individuals at all times.
• Recognising and understanding clinical risk areas in residents such as weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls, sign of infections and escalate any identified risks in a timely manner.
• Acting courteously towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.
• Practicing safe systems of work across the range of task.
