Chargehand (Green Spaces) - Internal OnlyCouncil

As part of the Green Spaces and Bereavement Services section, Bridgend County Borough Council is looking to recruit a Green Spaces Chargehand who will be required to work in a flexible manner, to cater for the needs of the service at any particular time and work some weekends when necessary.
The team aims to:
- Provide a visible, responsive, and proactive service focused on managing and improving the appearance of green spaces and cemeteries across the county borough.
- Act as a place-based service, dealing with environmental issues that have an impact on residents’ perceptions of safety, pride, and wellbeing.
- Provide a practical, highly visible “can-do” function, demonstrating the council’s commitment to maintaining, enhancing, and investing in its places.
The post holder’s focus will be to support the Green Spaces Superintendent with the supervision, development and motivation of a multi skilled workforce to secure the effective delivery of Green Spaces front line services.
The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
A valid driving licence is requirement for this post.
A Health Surveillance assessment through our Occupational Health Service is a requirement for this post.
