We are offering an opportunity for a Salaried GP role to join our friendly team for

3 sessions per week.

Excellent Renumeration.

The position is available to start as soon as possible, but we can wait for the right candidate.

Balsall Common and Meriden Group Practice is a semi-rural practice set in an attractive

leafy part of Solihull, close to the NEC.

Our practice has over 12,000 patients with 3 partners and 6 salaried GPs.

We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic GP to join our growing multidisciplinary

team. We value patient-centred continuity of care, no duty doctor system and your contract would only include core GMS hours.

Main duties of the job

A key member of the Primary Care Team, the salaried Primary Care doctor will manage a caseload dealing with a wide range of presenting health care needs in the Primary Care setting. The post holder will work with clinical colleagues in ensuring the highest standards of care for all patients.

Job description

Clinical responsibilities:

  • In accordance with the contract, fulfil rota duties, on-call cover, a usual GPs roles including AM/PM surgery consultations, emergencies, telephone consultations and query doctor, telephone triage, home visits, sharing repeat prescriptions signing.
  • Receives patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems and makes assessment of their health care needs.
  • Makes professional autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred internally within the organisation.
  • Develops with the patient a care plan for health.
  • Provides counselling and health education.
  • Fulfil role according to GMC Good practice
  • Consultations deal with the patients presenting complaint, with a mind to health promotion, awareness of QOF, local DES/LIS and practice policies
  • Prescribing safely and in line with BNF, local formulary and APC guidance
  • Recording clear and contemporaneous notes
  • Administrative duties include dealing with system notifications, tasks, queries, paperwork (reports/forms/insurance) and correspondence in a timely fashion
  • Complies with relevant practice policy/guidelines, e.g. in relation to child protection, confidentiality issues etc. as detailed in the practice policy, procedures and plans.
  • Attend and contribute to practice meetings
  • Is committed to lifelong learning and audit and effectiveness issues to ensure evidence based/best practice.

Other responsibilities:

  • Good clinical governance and awareness of practice policies including prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety
  • Continued appraisal and revalidation
  • Practice appraisal and job plan annually
  • A PDP and professional development (RCGP First5)
  • A role in clinical audit
  • Training standards maintained safeguarding, health and safety and fire.
