Job summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Maternity Support Worker to join our Homebirth Team at Birmingham Women's Hospital. This role involves providing high-quality, personalised care to women and families choosing homebirth, working closely with midwives to ensure safe and positive experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support midwives in delivering care during antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods.
• Assist with clinical observations, documentation, and preparation of equipment for homebirths.
• Provide emotional and practical support to women and families in their own homes.
• Promote safe practice and uphold professional standards in line with Trust policies.

Essential Requirements:

• Level 2 qualification in Maths and English.
• Level 4 Assistant Practitioner (Maternity) qualification.
• Care Certificate
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexibly, including on-call duties.

Desirable:

• Previous experience in maternity or community care settings.
• Understanding of homebirth pathways and safeguarding procedures.
