Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our Safeguarding & Public Protection team as Named Nurse/Professional for Safeguarding Adults to deliver, support and promote the Safeguarding agenda, Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) and Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) across the Trust.

You will have responsibility to lead, develop and implement the Safeguarding and Public Protection agenda across the Trust, working closely with other services. alongside your colleagues.

Whilst working under the direction of the Associate Director of Safeguarding, and alongside peer lead professionals, the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate compassionate leadership, innovation and emotional resilience given the nature of the role and must be able to work well both independently and within a team.

The post holder should hold a current professional registration within health or social care, a competency-based teaching qualification or equivalent experience, advanced Safeguarding training and current experience working within safeguarding policies and procedures.

The post holder will be expected to work at all sites across the Trust providing visible leadership, this includes being on site for a minimum of two days per week.

Main duties of the job

The successful postholder will lead the communication and co-ordination of any activity, including education and training that relates to Safeguarding of Adults and Public Protection.

You will manage and co-ordinate the activity of those working within the Safeguarding Adults and Public Protection team and co-ordinate the work of the safeguarding link professionals with the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children

The post holder will provide highly specialist advice and guidance to ensure standards of excellence in Safeguarding across the Trust and assist in the development and delivery of the Trusts Safeguarding & Public Protection training.

You will be responsible for promoting the wellbeing and safeguarding of all children, young people and adults by implementing the Trusts and Multi-agency Safeguarding policies and procedures, acting promptly on concerns, communicating effectively and sharing information appropriately.

The post holder will lead the development and implementation of the Safeguarding. Adult and Public Protection agenda/services across the Trust, working closely with other services to achieve this (safeguarding adults includes the MARAC and Prevent). You will provide the required assurance to Trust Board and external assessors, for example the Safeguarding Adult Boards (SABs), regarding the safeguarding process within the Trust.

You will lead the implementation, maintenance and further development of effective and efficient systems for the detection, prevention, surveillance, investigation and control of harm and abuse to adults (including MAPPA), in partnership with the Designated Nurse and other Safeguarding Adult leads. You will lead the communication and co-ordination of any activity, including education and training that relates to Safeguarding of Adults and Public Protection and manage and co-ordinate the activity of those working within the Safeguarding Adults and Public Protection team and co-ordinate the work of the safeguarding link professionals with the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children.
