Job summary
We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse to join our Inpatient Unit team, delivering high-quality, person-centred palliative care to patients with life-limiting illnesses. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate holistic care, provide clinical guidance to colleagues, support patients and their families, and help ensure the highest standards of care are maintained. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse with an interest in palliative care who is committed to making a meaningful difference at the end of life.
Main duties of the job
To deliver a high standard of nursing care as a member of the Inpatient Unit Service, providing clinical guidance, direction, and support to the unit. Working with other members of the Inpatient Services Team to ensure delivery of high-quality evidence-based care and adherence to the CQC fundamental standards.
Job description
Provide high-quality, holistic nursing care to patients with life-limiting illnesses, using evidence-based practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care. Administer medications safely, manage wound care, communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team, and provide compassionate emotional support to patients and their families. Support and supervise Healthcare Assistants and student nurses, contributing to induction, training and mentoring activities. Maintain accurate patient records, deliver clear handovers, and advocate for patients to ensure their wishes and needs are represented. Identify and manage risks, undertake patient risk assessments, and contribute to continuous service improvement through suggestions and implementation of changes to practice. Provide specialist clinical knowledge across the Inpatient Unit, working closely with colleagues, patients, families, healthcare professionals, volunteers and external agencies to deliver outstanding palliative care. Undertake any other reasonable duties within the scope of the role.

The Inpatient Services Team provide holistic, skilled, high-quality, and patient centred palliative careto all in-patients.
